10.00 (excellent) Fantastic series. This is what happens when you take the best of shoujo and the best of shounen and put them in a blender

10.00 (excellent) Wonderful, very introspective series. Kino is an excellent character, very, very badass. Hermes rocks, too. Music is great. Art is simple, but beautiful, and adds a fable-like quality to it that I love. Novels were unfortunately butchered when they were translated. Great for rewatching. I'm depressed that I never got to meet the talking dog and that other guy.

10.00 (excellent) My favorite of all of Studio Ghibli's movies. An excellent main character and a heartwarming ending. Great animation, especially for a movie made in the 80's. Great colors, too. I love the giant insects, but then again I'm weird when it comes to bugs. The flight theme in all of Miyazaki's movies is perhaps most present in this one, featuring a main character who owns not one, but two flying machines. Simply amazing.

10.00 (excellent) My favorite part of this series is definitely the main character. Shuurei is an excellent character; strong, independent, and hard-working. An excellent, smart series.

10.00 (excellent) One of the most popular anime series of all time. I would probably be lynched if Ii dais I didn't like it; but then again, I do like it. It's good series. Interesting story, great characters, excellent art and animation, and an unbelievably good soundtrack.

Eureka 7

9.50 (excellent) This series does everything right. Pacing is well-done, story is unique and interesting, and if good characters were jewels, this series would be a diamond mine. Even the giant mechas are fueled by the Power of Love. Renton and Eureka's relationship develops nicely over the course of the series. Art is awesome

9.00 (very good) A pleasant, relaxing, often hilarious slice-of-life that never gets too serious. One of the most addicting OPs ever that you WILL learn how to dance. I really wish my hair was as long as Konata's. Occasionally very touching. Art is simple but good-looking, very, very cute. Konata is an awesome character.

9.00 (very good) Awesome, hilarious manga, absolutely crap-tastic anime. The manga's good because it tries to be funny and definitely succeeds, but also manages to have several genuinely heartwarming moments and a serious, involving plot, as well as very good characters. The anime is good because it takes all of the manga's humor and throws it out the window and has the smallest budget in the history of anime, resulting in something so unintentionally hilarious it's worth watching just to laugh at it while it tries and fails epically at being good. The anime and manga are both personal favorites of mine, for totally different reasons.

9.00 (very good) EXCELLENT SERIES. Great main character, pacing, story, art and animation... Music is excellent, too. Mok and Nuk are both awful, but they don't have too much screen time. Erin rocks. Ia-lu has the cutest name ever and he and Tomura are both adorable. Dahmiya has the same voice as Xellos, which automatically makes him awesome. All of the animals are cool, especially the Ohju. All of the subbers for the series are idiots, sadly.

8.00 (good) Visually amazing. Pnyo and Sousuke are both adorable. Score is overwhelmingly cute. Story is fairy-tale like, clearly meant to appeal to a very young audience. Not Studio Ghibli's best work, and certainly not Miyazaki's, but still fun and adorable.

8.00 (good) An excellent movie by Studio Ghibli. Not much to complain about.

Kobato

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jan 11, 2010

8.00 (good) One of CLAMP's better works. A magical girl, just without the magic. Kobato is wonderful character, is a very mysterious one. Her potential love interest falls rather flat, however. A very relaxing, heartwarming series. Fairly good music. Art is average, though the character designs are amazing (my only complaint is that Kobato and Fujimoto look a little too much like Sakura an Shaoran, but this being CLAMP there is a prety good chance that there is a reason for that). Fans of the manga might complain that the anime deviates from the source material too much, but taken separately they each have their own merits.

Fruits Basket

Last Updated: Jan 10, 2010

7.00 (above average) Excellent series, both anime and manga. Anime cuts off too soon, unfortunately, climaxing when Tohru saves Kyou instead of where the manga ends. Poor Kureno and Rin didn't even get character designs. Art is gorgeous, focusing on characters. Manga-ka has an almost superhuman ability to portray a character's feelings through simple things like layouts and backgrounds. Character designs for the guys are wonderfully bihsounen. Tohru apparently heals the whole of the Souma clan and several others in 120-odd chapters, yet somehow it works. Characters are wonderful and well-rounded. Very funny series when it wants to be, very heartstring-tugging when it doesn't. Tohru must the least lucky girl in the history of anime and manga. Music is nothing special, ignoring the excellent OP.

Magic Knight Rayearth

Last Updated: May 20, 2010

7.00 (above average) One of CLAMP's earliest works. A classic. Somehow it manages to combine magical girls, mecha, and otherworldly fantasy adventures a la Fushigi Yugi and not come out a total mess.

Pita Ten

6.50 (above average) Fun, sweet story. Pete is adorable. Gets its facts on ice skating right, surprisingly. Cute romance with a ice skating theme. Rather sad ending. Skating routines are fun to watch, but the art and animation is unfortunately bad, very prone to QUALITY and going off-model, which is especially odd for a series made in 2004. Characters are pretty good, not exceptional.

6.50 (above average) Very much a guilty pleasure. You have two reasons to be watching this show: pretty guys and pretty music. Delivers well on both. Art is fairly good, music is excellent, character guys are awesome. Story-wise, it's there, but not much.

Last Updated: Jan 11, 2010

6.00 (average) Pretty good, but far from great. Starts off way too slowly, but get past that and it isn't bad. Character designs are frightfully cute. Some things don't really make sense unless you read manga. Music is average, though I think the OP pretty good (it's pretty polarizing

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jan 11, 2010

6.00 (average) Another CLAMP release that's visually amazing, but rather disappointing plot-wise. Starts off as a fun romp that CLAMP fans, especially those that loved Cardcaptor Sakura, will adore, but takes a turn for the more totally screwed up later on. This series is a mind screw on par with Revolutionary Girl Utena; things stop making sense half way through. Still looks really pretty though. (You might want to just try to forget that the anime ever happened.)
